Pauline McGregor (nee Churchward)
Pauline is a local artist tracing her roots and talent to her grandfather Cherubino Kirchmayr (Churchward) a well-known late 19th century artist. President of the Venice Art Academy from 1870 to 1872 Cherubino supported himself through portrait painting many of which hang in museums and private collections the world over. It is not surprising then that Pauline’s works are diverse. They include natural scenes with bright watercolors reflecting the natural setting of her studio west of the city overlooking Ghost Lake. Her later work, including Chaos to Clarity, explores darker and more abstract themes using mixed media and textiles.
